Your Name A Journey Across Time and Space /

Prologue: The Red String of Fate /

In this vast universe, could there be connections that transcend time and space? Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name” offers a unique perspective on this eternal question through its enchanting narrative of body-swapping between two strangers.

The Beginning: A Familiar Yet Strange Morning /

Mitsuha Miyamizu, a high school girl from rural Itomori, and Taki Tachibana, a Tokyo high school student, begin experiencing a strange phenomenon - they occasionally swap bodies while sleeping. Each morning, they wake up living each other’s lives, creating a unique connection between two distant souls.

Parallel Lives: Documentation and Discovery /

They begin documenting their experiences through phone messages and diary entries, leaving traces in each other’s lives. While managing this supernatural occurrence, they gradually develop a deep connection that transcends their physical distance.

The Turning Point: Comet and Festival /

Taki discovers a shocking truth - Mitsuha exists three years in the past, and her town faces imminent destruction from a falling comet. This revelation transforms their mysterious connection into a race against time to prevent tragedy.

Searching and Forgetting: Fading Memories /

As time progresses, their connection begins to fade like a dream upon waking. Yet, an inexplicable longing remains in their hearts, driving them to search for what they know they’ve lost but can’t remember.
